How AccBrain works

A small app on your Tally computer sends your books to your phone — so your accounts are with you even when the computer is switched off.

Your Tally PCThe desktop app reads Tally and sends your books to your phone.
Your phoneThe phone app opens them — anywhere, anytime.

Important: the phone app stays empty until the desktop app has synced at least once. That is why the desktop step comes before the phone.

The whole journey, step by step

Phase 1

Quick prep

Ten minutes at any computer: make the one account everything signs in to, then put the desktop app on the PC that runs Tally.

1

Create your AccBrain account

Everything hangs off one account — website, desktop app and phone all sign in to the same one. Make it wherever you reach first:

  • On this websiteEnter your email on the sign-up page. We mail a 6-digit code — type it in, choose a password, and you are in.
  • In the phone appSwitch to the Sign up tab on the first screen. Same code-and-password flow, and it signs you straight in.
  • With GooglePress Continue with Google on the phone, Sign in with Google on the desktop, or the same here. The account is created the first time you use it.
Create your account
If the desktop app will not take your password

The desktop app's Email and Password boxes only sign in to an account that already exists. Want a password rather than Google? Create the account here or in the phone app first.

2

Install the desktop app on your Tally computer

On the Windows PC that runs Tally, download and run the AccBrain desktop installer. It is a small app that sits quietly in the background.

It opens on a Dashboard with a Finish setup checklist of three items. Steps 3 and 4 below walk through them — sync begins by itself once all three are ticked.

This is a one-time setup, and only on the single computer where Tally lives.

Phase 2

Your Tally PC

The one-time bit. Open the door TallyPrime keeps shut by default, then sign the desktop app in and link your company — the first sync starts on its own.

3

Switch on Tally's connection

AccBrain reads your books through a connection that TallyPrime keeps switched off out of the box. Turn it on once:

  1. In TallyPrime, open the company you want to sync.
  2. Press F1 (Help) → SettingsConnectivity.
  3. Open Client/Server configuration.
  4. Set TallyPrime acts as to Both, Enable ODBC to Yes and Port to 9000.
  5. Press Ctrl+A to accept, and leave TallyPrime open.

Finish setup in AccBrain

Open the desktop app's Settings and work down the three checklist items:

  1. 1Connect to Tally PrimeUnder Tally Prime Connection leave Host as localhost and Port as 9000, then press Test Connection. It replies Successfully connected to TallyPrime and the pill top-right flips from Tally offline to Tally connected.
  2. 2Sign in to your AccBrain accountUnder AccBrain Account enter the same email and password as Step 1 and press Sign In. Made your account with Google? Use Sign in with Google — it opens your browser, and those accounts have no password to type here.
  3. 3Link your companyPick your company in the Company dropdown, then press Link Company. It becomes Re-link Company once it is done.
  • Sync starts on its ownDashboardPhone Sync shows the last full sync, how many Masters and Vouchers were sent, and Full sync completed. Sync Now runs a fresh sync; Full Re-sync rebuilds everything from scratch.
  • Keep it fresh without thinkingSync Schedule → turn on Sync automatically, set the minutes (5 is fine) and press Save. Leave the Tally computer on with TallyPrime and AccBrain running.

Your 7-day free trial starts on this first sync — not when you signed up. Your AccBrain Plan in Settings counts the days down and holds the Buy / Extend button.

Still says Disconnected? And what the device binding means

Stuck on Disconnected with “Connection error: error sending request…”? TallyPrime is not open, or Step 3 was never accepted. Fix it in Tally, then press Test Connection again.

AccBrain registers this one computer against your account — the plan card shows when it was bound and how many changes you have left this year.

Phase 3

Phone & go

Install the app, sign in with the same account, and your books are already there. Then look around — and pick a term when the trial runs out.

5

Install the phone app and sign in

Install AccBrain from the Google Play Store or from the App Store and open it. The very first screen is Sign in to continue — use the same account as Step 1, or switch to the Sign up tab right there if you have not made one yet. Three short screens follow: Choose your language → your books syncing → All set.

Nothing to fetch by hand. The app finds the company linked to your account, picks it and starts pulling straight away — Setting up your books shows the company name and a progress bar, and you land on Home with your ledgers and vouchers already there. More than one company? It asks Choose your company first.

The last screen asks Who’s using AccBrain?Owner, Accountant or Manager. That choice decides which tabs you get and how the app words things. Owner is already picked, so you can just tap Finish and change it later.

After that it keeps itself current: it refreshes every time you open the app and every time you switch back to it. A manual Refresh data button sits under Backup & Sync if you ever want to force one.

If nothing syncs

If the setup screen says “No company is linked to…”, the desktop has not linked one yet — finish Step 4, then tap Retry. Tap to learn how to set up on that screen brings you back to this page.

6

Explore your books

Your books sit under tabs along the bottom — up to five, arranged to match how you work:

  • Homebusiness health, money in and out this month, and quick entry for receipts, payments and expenses.
  • Partiescustomers and suppliers, their ledgers, and who owes you.
  • Transactionsvouchers and the day book.
  • Inventorystock on hand, plus low-stock and reorder alerts.
  • ReportsProfit & Loss, Balance Sheet and GST summary.
Why you see these tabs and not others

Which of them you get is the Who’s using AccBrain? answer from the last setup screen. Owner shows Home, Parties, Transactions and Reports; Manager swaps Reports for Inventory; Accountant sees all five. Settings is where you change it afterwards. Anything not on the bar is still in the menu, and the search icon jumps straight to any party, item or voucher.

Pick a plan when your trial ends — or don't

When the 7 days are up you keep the free plan: one company, the dashboard, the day book and your three statement reports, with no expiry date. Choose a term when you want the rest of it back. Two ways to pay:

  • In the phone appOpen Unlock AccBrain, choose a term and tap Buy (Google Play on Android, the App Store on iPhone).
  • On the websiteSign in and go to Billing (Card or UPI).
  • One-time payment — nothing renews automatically.
  • Buy early and the new time adds on top of what is left.
  • Nothing you have already synced is ever deleted.
  • The free plan underneath has no expiry date.

Common questions

SyncDo I have to keep my computer switched on?

For your phone to show the latest numbers, the desktop app has to sync. Leave the Tally computer on, with TallyPrime and AccBrain running, whenever you want fresh data — and turn on Sync Schedule → Sync automatically so it refreshes on its own instead of waiting for you to press Sync Now. Your phone still opens and shows the last synced books even when the PC is off.

PrivacyIs my data private?

Yes. Each business's books are visible only to its own account — no other account can ever see your ledgers or vouchers.

BillingWhat happens after the free trial?

You land on the free plan rather than a locked screen: one company, the dashboard, the day book and your statement reports keep opening and refresh each time you launch the app. Nothing you have already synced is deleted — buy a term whenever you want and everything resumes exactly where it left off.

DevicesCan I use more than one phone?

Yes — unlimited phones on one account. You link one desktop (your Tally computer) per account, and as many phones as you like read from it.

BillingDoes buying renew automatically?

No. Every purchase is one-time; nothing auto-charges. When a term ends, sync pauses until you choose to buy again — and buying early just adds time on top of what you already have.

Ready to see your Tally books everywhere?

Create your account, then follow the steps above. The whole setup takes about 15 minutes.
